Fiend

Updated: Sep 6, 2018

By - Subah Bhatia

When her innocence was pulled, into an ally dark,

For the dirty deeds of a man’s lust and greed,

Was her who lay helpless,

Inculpated for having worn above the knee.

Expected was she to remain tranquil,

Acquiescent at the mercy of a fiend,

As drapes were torn and buttons ripped,

Die did her long before of life she was weaned.

Served was she with eloquent stares and anomalous glares,

Every minute she survived after she died,

For nor could she and nor could they,

Abstain from noticing the falter in her stride.

After that hazy dooming night, thrown was she,

Into a life many entered but never lived,

Serving a sentence for her felon’s crime,

The memories making her crave, for death to contrive.
